How to use the Stewardship Community Forum
This forum is your space to discuss any area of crop protection and product stewardship with other members of the Stewardship Community website. So, how does it work? Let’s start with some questions and answers...
What is a forum?
A forum is a discussion which may contain a grouping of several related topics.
What is a topic?
Is a sub-topic of a forum it contains a grouping of related posts. A topic contains 1 or more posts.
So how do I start?
Read through the instructions below or download the pdf file of this information. If you only want to view the forums then click on the View forums button in the left hand navigation bar and browse the forums, topics and posts. If you want to contribute you’ll need to register.
How to register
Click on the Register button in the left hand side navigation bar.
Fill in all the mandatory details.
Click the Create User button at the bottom of the page, make sure you’ve read the terms & conditions.
Then you can start posting straight away. You will also receive an email confirming your registration.
Viewing and commenting
Click on the ‘View forums’ button in the left hand navigation
Click on a ‘Forum topic’ from the list of all the current topics that you’d like to view or comment on.
or
Click on the last posting to see the details of that comment.
When you click on a forum you’ll then get a list of all the topic with that forum.
Click on a topic from the list you’d like to view or comment on.
USER TIP
When you click on a topic heading you will then be able to see the chain of comments within that topic listed in date order the most recent is a the bottom of the list.
There are up to 6 buttons you may see:
Quote: Allows you to reply quoting the original comment in your response
Report: Allows you to alert us to a comment that you feel may be inappropriate, offensive or abusive.
PM: Private Message, allows you to message the author of the post without it appearing on the forum
Reply: Allows you to reply directly to a comment
Edit: Allows you to edit a post until someone has replied
Delete: Allows you to delete a post until someone has replied
How to start a new topic
Choose a forum.
Click on ‘new topic’ if you would like to discuss something related to the main forum topic which is not already covered in the topics listed.
Options
There are three extra options at the bottom of each topic
You can received email notification when someone adds to the forum
You can highlight you favourite topics.
If you are the author you can finish a topic by clicked solved
Signing in
Click the sign in button in the left hand navigation bar.
Enter your email and password.
Click on the log in button.
Signing out
At any stage you can sign out from any page on the site. The sign in button in the left hand navigation bar changes to ‘sign out’ when you are signed in.
How to edit your registration details
If you would like to change any of your registration information click on the ‘Register / My details’ button when you are signed in. e.g to change your screen name.
Forgotten your password?
If you are trying to sign in and forget your password click on ‘forgot your password?’
Enter your email address and click ‘send password’
Please refer back to your registration email.
USER TIP
The forum might seem complex to begin with but it’s very easy to pick up so don’t be afraid to give it a try.
